London Works’ Temp of the Month for August is Aysha Rahman, Anti-Social Behaviour Administrator at Poplar HARCA Housing Association.
Over her three months at Poplar HARCA, Aysha’s efficiency and professionalism have impressed her manager Joe Williams so much that he nominated her for the award, telling London Works that “Aysha has gone above and beyond her job role by assisting with legal cases, helping the Police with some serious criminal investigations and has offered help with translating for Bengali speaking residents across the housing directorate.”
Joe says, “I have had residents telling me how polite and professional she is and one in particular demanding she get a full time job. She has brought an energy and enthusiasm to the office which has given everybody else a real lift and I can't remember how we ever coped before she worked with us.” The Anti-Social Behaviour team have been so impressed by Aysha that she has now been offered a permanent position, which she is due to take up next month.
Aysha’s daily role at Poplar HARCA involves email communication, reviewing of CCTV cameras and studying and actioning requests sent by the Metropolitan police. She administers the progression of legal cases and attends at least one interview or meeting per day where she either translates, scribes or assists the officers. Aysha says, “I have loved every minute being here, especially filling up the post and being welcomed by all the staff. The company itself has a friendly environment and I am very comfortable. I appreciate my manager Joe Williams a lot, he's been patient and very helpful towards me. The team I belong to has made me love the job and my interest in ASB has heightened.”
Speaking about her experience with London Works, Aysha told us “I am very appreciative towards London Works and cannot thank Siobhan for helping me as soon as I started. London Works has already opened opportunities for me and I am forever talking about them and recommending others to reach out to the agency.”
London Works would like to congratulate Aysha for her continued hard work and dedication to her role, and to thank Poplar Harca for their continued support of our mission to place east London graduates into employment.
